Black History Month

October marks the UK’s Black History Month, the annual commemoration of the history, achievements, and contributions from Black Britons.

As well as a month acknowledging history, Black History Month is also an opportunity for people to learn more about the effects of racism and how we can all play a role in challenging negative stereotypes.

The theme of this year's Black History Month is ‘Reclaiming Narratives’. This theme ‘underscores a commitment to correcting historical inaccuracies and showcasing the untold success stories and the full complexity of Black heritage.’ Please see full information here.
